Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum also being called in a dearly way as Uncle Ho’s mausoleum, is located at 2 Hung Vuong, Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, city. Hanoi. The project is a place to preserve Uncle Ho’s remains according to the wishes and feelings of the Government and the people. Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum was started building on September 2, 1973 and inaugurated on August 29, 1975.

Uncle Ho’s mausoleum was built in 3 layers, 21.6 meters high and 41.2 meters wide. Below are steps leading up to the central structure with the remains room and corridors and stairs. The top part is a mausoleum roof designed in a three-level shape.

The outside of the mausoleum is covered with gray granite, surrounded by square marble columns on all four sides and in the middle stands out the words “PRESIDENT HO CHI MINH” in plum-colored pink stone. The interior area is made of polished gray and red stone. The grounds around the mausoleum are planted with many species of trees and flowers typical of regions across the country. This is a famous attraction of the Capital, where any Vietnamese person wants to visit once.

Ba Dinh Square in front of President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum is where the flag-raising ceremony of Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum takes place at 6:00 a.m. and the flag-lowering ceremony at 9:00 p.m. every day. Therefore, coming to the mausoleum during these hours, you will witness the solemn national ceremony performed by the Pepper Soldiers, the Red Flag soldiers and the image of red flags and yellow stars flying to the sound of the National Anthem. On special days such as National Day and Uncle Ho’s birthday, the ritual becomes even more important and sacred.
